Looking for a Birthday or Christmas gift for a loved one? How about gifting them a piece of art! There is just something very personal and special about gifting a work of art! Few gifts are more memorable than fine art, and taking the time to choose artwork for your special someone or a valuable colleague is an excellent way to show how much someone means to you. There’s no wrong way to give the gift of art, only amazing possibilities. And there are options for every budget. Here are 5 examples of ways to gift art:
1. Commission an art piece
Gift a truly one of a kind piece that is completely tailored to the interest and taste of the recipient by commissioning an art piece.
The materials (from coloured pencil to gouache to oil paints), colour palette, topic and size amongst other things can be customized, making it an incredibly special gift.
The picture of the heart and lungs links to an example of a bespoke medical illustration that was commissioned as a gift for a medical professional. Such a thoughtful idea for a very personal present! After an initial conversation discussing the illustration, I started out making sketches. Once the sketches were approved, I traced them over to a nice high quality paper and started working away at the illustration.

2. Gift an original art piece
Original not just because it’s creative—it’s because it’s one of a kind, making it very special and valuable. It is produced by hand and every color and brush stroke is specifically chosen and applied by the hand of the artist.
Another great thing about buying original artwork is that it can appreciate in value. It typically does not lose its value for having been pre-owned. Instead, the art piece may be worth more after years than it was worth when you first bought it. You're basically gifting a great investment as well as a really personal an thoughtful present!

3. Gift an art print
Art prints make fantastic gifts because they can be chosen to match the receiver's interior, personality and interests. They are suitable and thoughtful gifts for any occasion.
They are less expensive than original pieces, but can still be very exlusive - especially if you look for limited edition prints.
Printed on a high quality paper with high quality inks they will stun any viewer.

4. Frame a postcard
Looking for a way to gift an art piece on a smaller budget?
In the webshop you'll find a lovely selection of high quality post cards for really small prices. Some are printed by hand (linoprints), others were printed with high quality printer inkt. All of them are lovely vibrant pieces of art and make great gifts; how about framing a gorgeous postcard or gifting a postcrossing giftset, maybe even including some vintage stamp fridge magnets from the webshop?
5. Give a Gift Voucher
Not completely sure which art piece your loved one or colleague might love most? Treat someone special to a gift voucher and let them choose an artwork they love.
The amount on the gift voucher is customizable. Add your personal message, list your shipping address and the gift voucher will be posted, festively wrapped, to the recipient.
